In advance of soliciting formal proposals for Phase 1, we are openly seeking very lightweight initial Expressions of Interest from (i) individuals who are interested in being involved in a potential new founding team, or (ii) existing organisations (such as established AI labs or critical infrastructure companies) who wish to express interest in helping to initialise the new organisation as an affiliated entity. ARIA will then make appropriate introductions at our discretion – we will not make your information public and we will handle introductions with care and confidentiality.
If you register and provide your details you acknowledge and understand that:
– your details (full name, email, address, organisation, CV and expertise) will be stored and processed by ARIA;
– that ARIA may contact you for the purpose of discussing its Safeguarded AI programme;
– that ARIA may contact you to ask if you agree for ARIA to share your full name, email address, organisation, CV and expertise with a third party for the purposes of networking;
– you can change your mind at any time and ask us to delete your contact details by contacting us at hello@aria.org.uk with the subject line “Safeguarded AI Deletion Request”;
– that deletion from ARIA’s records will not prevent any third party which has already obtained your contact details from contacting you;
– if ARIA does not contact you, or does contact you and the networking process does not progress, ARIA will delete you from its records no later than the end of the Safeguarded AI programme, EOD 2028.
– in all cases, ARIA will delete your CV and expertise from its records no later than the end of the Safeguarded AI programme, EOD 2028.
Additionally, by taking part in this process you agree to comply with the following conditions (“Usage Conditions”):
if you another person’s contact details are shared with you, you must (i) only use them to contact that other person for the purpose discussing involvement with the Safeguarded AI programme, and (ii) you must not share them with any other person;
you must not use the contact details of others for direct marketing or added to any general mailing lists without consent of the relevant individuals;
you must comply with applicable data protection laws, including, where required, identifying your own lawful basis for using personal data and complying with transparency obligations.
Each registrant is required to comply with the Usage Conditions set out above. Please note that ARIA will not be responsible for the failure of any third party to comply with such conditions. If you have any concerns or complaints with how your data has been used, please notify ARIA immediately using the contact details within our privacy policy below.
How ARIA processes your data. ARIA will process your personal data (i.e. full name, email, address, organisation, CV and expertise) to register your details, to share this personal data with others who request it, as well as keeping a record of any requested deletions. Our lawful basis for processing your personal data for these purposes is to carry out the public task as set out in section 2 of the Advanced Research and Invention Agency Act 2022.
